Chris Fregly is a performance engineer and AI product leader who has driven innovations at Netflix, Databricks, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and multiple startups. He has led performance-focused engineering teams that built AI/ML products, scaled go-to-market initiatives, and reduced cost for large-scale generative-AI and analytics workloads. Chris coauthored Data Science on AWS and Generative AI on AWS (O’Reilly), and created the O’Reilly course “High-Performance AI in Production with NVIDIA GPUs.” His work spans kernel-level tuning, compiler-driven acceleration, distributed training, and high-throughput inference. The northeast African cheetah shares the iconic slender body and long limbs characteristic of all cheetahs, which facilitates its incredible speed (up to 65–75 miles per hour). Cheetahs eat medium-sized ungulates like gazelles, zebras, and impalas. They are skilled hunters. Their strategy relies on a blend of stealth and an explosive, short burst of speed. They consume their meals quickly to avoid losing it to other predators like lions or hyenas, who are able to overpower them. Unlike many other big cats, cheetahs cannot roar but instead use a variety of purrs, chirps, hisses, and growls to communicate. They are particularly vocal in mating season or when females are communicating with their cubs. A litter typically contains three to five cubs, who live with their mother for the first year and a half.
